New Machine! New Project!

Well, as an early birthday present I received a Brother sewing machine. Needless to say this machine is way better than my old, tiny, purple machine. However, I got so used to the way that machine made me labor over a piece of fabric. Now, I am trying to get used to my new sewing machine. I think I will call her March Owl (skip the fact that I got her in Feb).

So, in getting used to her I decided to try out a project. We shall call this, "Project Sony Reader Disguise." I decided to make a cover for my reader. Granted it came with a really nice black cover. You know me though simple is never my game! Any who enough with the shenanigans. I give to you my first sewn project with March Owl sewing machine.

I think I will really need to get used to my machine. Concept, great. Execution, not so great. This machine works so fluid and like a dream. Need to learn the practice of fluidity to match Mrs. March Owl. Hopefully, better projects to come.

Projects to come!!!

O.K. So, here is a list of up and coming projects!!! woohoo!

Altered Canvas Swap- I will be making an altered canvas and swapping with my partner Amber. The theme is Vintage Sring and we have to incorporate the quote,"April showers, bring May flowers." Deadline for this project is March 24. Due to my serious need to suprise my partner I will not be posting any pictures until she recieves it. Sorry.

Two Shadow Boxes- Making shadow boxes for my bathroom. It really could use some decoration. This will probably be finished sometime after my altered canvas because it is a home project.

Embroidered Clock- Bought the components to make a clock. I could really use one in my little workstation I have. So, why not make one out of my favorite craft.. Embroidery.

I have a full plate in front of me. Hopefully the right inspiration comes my way.

Creative DNA

Where do I get my creative spirit? What do I constantly create?

Simple. All my creativity I can link back to just about everyone in my family. Mostly everyone specializes in a needlepoint craft. Be it sewing, crocheting, emobroidery. Then we have our paper crafters with their scrapbooks and ATC's. We have our miniature crafter's with their model cars and airplanes. We have our photographers. My family is filled with nothing but artistic blood!!! It is literally in my genes to be crafty.

As of right now I think I take a little of everyone. I simply love to do all kinds of arts and craft. Either I have been blessed or cursed because I can't seem to just pick one.

Thank you! Familia Muñoz and Andrade for all the wonderful gifts you have handed me.
